Artist's Bio
Yiorgos Depollas was born in Athens - Greece on May 28. 1947.
He studied film direction and since 1975 he has concerned himself exclusively with professional and creative photography.
He was a co-founder of Image Studio (1975) and the Photography Centre of Athens (1979), as well as of Fotorama publishers (1983), he remains involved in all those activities to this date.
He has been teaching photography at the Vakalo School of Graphic Arts, since 1984.
His work has frequently been exhibited and published in Greece and abroad.

Artist's Words
"It is true that every place can be represented in a variety of ways. This is the Ikaria that I love. All of the photographs were taken between 2002-2003 on the occassion of the publication of this book.
First of all I would like to truly thank all those who helped me in my wonderings on this unique island. I would also like to thank the organisers and the Board of Trustees of the ICARIA FESTIVAL and particularly its president, Mr. Christos Stavrinadis. My thanks also to Mr. Aristotle Aivaliotis for his co-operation and Mr.. Stamatis Vassilaros, whose idea
